Warp Storm - Maelstrom Games - Mansfield

Postby Daimyo52 » Sun Dec 20, 2009 10:13 pm

Don't know if anyone has seen this but thought I'd post for info :D

Here's a quick preview guys, the rulespack should be finalised next week and tickets will be on sale sometime in the New Year once we get the rulespacks back from the printers.

Some quick details.

Feb 13-14th - Warhammer 40,000 - Warp Storm 2010

1750 pts, no comp, 6 games over the 2 days.
Full list of scenarios and VPs etc will be in final rulespack. Mr West himself has helped out with the rulespack. (is that a good thing!? )

£30 per ticket which includes an A5 printed full colour rulespack, hot lunch on both days and tea/coffee over the weekend.

Lisensed bar till 2am with reasonable prices.

No need to bring your own terrain, all terrain is provided and will be pretty nifty if I say so myself, no more putting up with WFB reject terrain! Proper 40k style stuff.

Prizes and trophies for 1st,2nd,3rd, Best Sport and Best Paints.

More info on events see here

And also take a look at the 'Scrap Metal' Warmachine/Hordes rulepack on the site that is available for download, http://www.maelstromgames.co.uk/downloa ... s_pack.pdf

gives you an idea of the quality rulespacks we will be putting out for all our events.

If your representing MG..then.
If i did more tourneys I would be interested, mansfield is a bit of a slog for my (south nottinghamshire) lazy arse but meh, close enough.
GW £50 and chance of another 6 games inc dinner vs MG- £30 no further games, no dinner (not relevant to me as I wouldn't stick around, but for those hanging out in the bar thats more money down on bar snacks..)
Only getting idea of the rulespack when you have bought a ticket...if you've got them, I'd offer them for free download.. its more of an incentive to know what kind of callings I can expect vs feudal freakery (will it be RAW uber allis, will it be "terry hates bloody nids so no they can't go to ground", will emails questioning and evolving it be allowed or is the document final..will it be the INAT?)
Holding it up to the GW and others comparison it seems expensive.

Your links don't work.. is this where you meant to link? http://www.maelstromgames.co.uk/index.p ... 00&sou=bes
As to actually going this feb, its not up to me, its up to ljundhammer, and if anyone wants to contribute me a chunk more bikes to take me up to 1750 :D

If your not getting paid to promote it, and just interested in it. Heres some more info on the place..

(so like a gt heat, I'd expect it to be 150 tickets)
Dude who heads up events appears to be this guy

But also bear in mind its the weekend before the AOS meetup at GW if your allocating your travel pennies

KBM

maelstrom is nothing to do with me , I just thought i would pass it on for infoas it was posted on the TWF forum and I fancy going anyway :D not sure why think i would be getting paid to promote 8O

£30 with 2 lunches doesn't seem bad, considering that it is anextra £20 for 2 less than average dinners.

From what i have heard you will see a lot more tournaments of all kinds going on there when they finish thier conversions............
