WD Online: SM weirdness

Postby LordMalekTheRedKnight » Fri Oct 03, 2008 10:19 pm

hey all :)

just received the latest WDO newsletter, dated 3rd Oct. some of the prices are quite unexpected (this is just the relevant snippet):

THIS WEEK: Space Marines
NEW RELEASES
OUT NOW!

CODEX: SPACE MARINES
£15 - OUT NOW!

THUNDERFIRE CANNON
£18 - OUT NOW!

now, according to the GW site, the new marine stuff is still on Advance Order (released tomorrow, not today). not only that, but the codex is supposedly £18, and the Thunderfire £30 (these are the prices i was expecting). so where did GW get this stuff from? :?:

:?

See imperialsavant's thread on pretty much the same thing :)..GW = bad at rolling out- especially bad news..Autobots- now they were good at rolling out!

Definitely a cockup. However, you could try pushing them on the phone to let you have a Thunderfire for £18 and see what they say ;) It was never that price even on pre-order, it was £25 when they first listed it.

i am considering it... ;)
(isnt £18 less than trade price? :P)

i just checked the email and there doesnt appear to be any disclaimer saying the prices might not be correct. :o

p.s. on a related note: i went to my local indie yesterday to pick up my reserved copy of C: SM (which he opened his delivery just to give me), and GW hadnt even given him the prices on the invoice (just the "£9999" placeholder we see on the online store sometimes). i had to tell him how much it was supposed to be. so yes, GW are useless when it comes to rolling things out.
