5th Edition Cities of Death

Postby timewizard » Sat Sep 06, 2008 2:31 pm

Found this on Dakka Dakka. He wrote a nice article on converting the Cities of Death codex to 5th edition rules. Enjoy!

Cool - I'll get BDA to print out some copies for us all and take a read. I fancy using all my terrain for some big city-fight games :)

Matter of fact, when I saw the article, I thought of your terrain!
BTW, how did the roof on the 'game house' come out? Everything good, or did you have to take up my suggestion for a "water element" in your cityscape?

Don't know about that. A lot of the CoD rules were incorporated into 5th edition (ruins, moving up in ruins, buildings, etc.) It looks as if CoD was a kind of proving ground for a number of 5th edition changes.

GW have admitted that they were working on 5th ed while working on CoD. kinda explains the fact that they didnt realise that CoD doesnt work with 4th ed LOS rules (unless you define ruins as both WYSIWYG and Area Terrain).

Shed roof was all done in a morning (with help from BDA and Wolflord Havoc). I even did the smaller garden shed next to it.

Still needs some solar reflective paint on it although after probably the wettest August on record we are about to have the wettest september on record. We haven't seen the sun in this country for about a year...

Good find Time Wizard - will have a look at those rules tonight.

Yep Operation "Shed Roof Repair" went like clockwork and it was all finished by midday......just as it stopped raining.

Glad to hear the repairs went well! Of course, you will now have to go out and get a bottle of "water effects" fot that new fountain!
