Barahammer: 40k Kill Teams

Postby Baragash » Mon Apr 04, 2011 6:02 pm

So I'm considering writing a system for 40k Skirmish, based on merging LotR SBG and 40k (duh! ;) ).

Is this of interest to anyone?

Yeah, sounds good.
I did one a while back (will try to find it, had to totally re-install a while back, so some stuff is kaput).
How about some necromunda input, too?

What sort of points cost are you thinking of, assuming something like the codex ones???
Small units vs individuals?

Individuals. Points stay as 40k to start with, they can be adjusted later if the system works.

I don't particularly like Necromunda/2nd Ed or at least in comparison I much prefer LotR as a Skirmish system. However, that doesn't mean there aren't things in Necromunda worth looking at.

So stats would convert like this:
F = WS/roll to hit needed for BS (possible need for bonus for BS6+)
S = S
D = T + points of save (ie 6+ save = 1 point of save, 5+ save = 2 points of save etc)
W = W
A = A
C = TBC (need to do some probability work here)

M = have some ideas need to compare sone models
W = as M
F = if model has Inv then gets points equal to wounds passing on score equal to Inv. FnP may get involved here or not, have a couple of ideas

SM
F4/3+ S4 T8 W1 A1 C?

IG
F3/4+ S3 T5 W1 A1 C?

Ork
F4/5+ S3 T5 W1 A2 C?

DE
F4/3+ S3 T5 W1 A1 C?

Weapons would retain their current profile except AP would be redundant (though AP1/2 might get special rules).

Movement would convert at (brainstorming, need to check some stuffs):
40k 6" = Normal LotR"
SnP = LotR-1"
Fleet = LotR+1"
Cavalry/Beast/Bike = 10"
(There may be a few other cases that I need to think about)
