Homemade Terrain

Postby Culven » Thu Nov 29, 2007 8:04 pm

I don't mean physically making terrain, but more of ideas for terrain rules that you have had.

For example, I am thinking of making cone-shaped mesas, where the point is down, and having them drift D3 inches in a random direction at the start of each player's turn. Units on the floating mesas would not count as moving due to the mesa drifting, due to the gentle drifting.

I would ultimately like to create a terrain set for Daemonworlds, so the laws of physics are only a rough guideline which can be tossed if they become too constraining.

I also have a variety of carnivorous plants, created with the Creature Feature rules, for use on a Deathworld table.

nice idea, so long as u discus it before with your opponent, anything is possible ;)

i've not tried anything like thatmyself p to now, but thinking of using tunnels in our apoc game this weekened, so I don't have to have one massive table

or do I call them warp gates? I could add a risk to using them, dangerous terrain tests to move through them ;)

Oh, that sounds like a great idea too. Use two tables, each with a warp gate. One table, has an objective and the other has some units which are trying to get through the warpgate to reinforce the forces fighting over the objective. Though I suppose that is more of a special mission, than special terrain.
