Hello Everyone. I have been going through all the models of my Tau army I bought a year ago and found the following models that had been created by the previous owner. I think they are cool, but there are no rules for them. So I thought it might be fun to create some new rules as a community as these do really look cool.

See pictures.

I am seeing the burst cannons as similar to what the Stealth Teams use.

C&C welcome.

jlong, hope you don't mind but I fixed your post as it was just showing the URLs. The img tag requires images, the URLs you used were to the HTML wrapping the images. Next time, if you look under the picture you'll see a "URLs" link - click it and a variety of copy-and-paste URLs will appear that you can drop straight into the forum :)

No worries. Thanks very much. I tried doing the tags different ways and it never worked so I just posted em up and figured you or someone else could fix it. Thanks again.

hows this:

0-1 Firewarrior Burst Cannon Team [Troops Choice (cannot satisfy minium FOC requirements)]

Statline: (as per Fire Warrior Team)
Points Cost: 10 pts per model.
Team: 3-6 models.
Unit Type: Infantry.
Equipment: Burst Cannon.
Options: None.
Character: One model may be upgraded to a Team Leader for +10 pts. The Team leader may purchase a Bonding Knife for +5 pts, but otherwise has no further options.
Transport: The Team may be mounted in a Devilfish.
Special Rules:
- Experimental: The fire warriors are unfamiliar with their new weapons - they automatically fail any Target Priority Tests they are called to take.
- Massive Recoil: Due to the powerful recoil, the unit cannot benefit from Markerlight Tokens. Also, they cannot charge after firing (despite using Assault weapons).
- Encumbered: The unit has the Slow & Purposeful USR, due to the weight and bulkyness of their weapons.

thoughts? :)

Hmmm. I like what you have done, but I am unsure of the 3 special rules. Basically they get 3 penalties for a 18" weapon that gets 3 dice to fire. How about 12 points a model(to help pay for the bigger gun), but dropping the unfamiliar rule. This way they are slow and purposeful and cannot assault, but can still take target priority rolls. I agree with the no ML use though.

So a full squad would be 72 points. Not too bad for being able to put out 18 shots a round.
