For discussing new rules and changes to the current rules, such as new homebrew datasheets for Apocalypse

Warhammer 40K Edition 5.1

Postby Ben » Wed Jul 16, 2008 3:30 pm

I was thinking of playing 5th edition with the 2nd edition event cards. Well most of the 2nd edition event cards. I am also for the most part not using the scenarios in the book due to the some of my concerns that not all armies are equal.

For instance white terminators can hold a hill but blue ones cannot. Red jump troops can hold that bridge but blue one cannot.

I will admit that I don't play 40K as much as other games with my 40K miniatures but when I do play 40K it seems rather jarring. I am hoping this will help me push the "I believe button".

Any other ideas?

You could try these. Just print them out and mount them on cardstock.

i was planning on (eventually) converting the 2nd ed Strategy Cards to 4th ed (would have to be 5th now lol), but i realised that a lot of them have already been covered by CoD Strategems and/or Apoc Assets.

ive narrowed a list of CoD Strategems down to those that i think are suitable for normal (non-CoD) games of 40K (plus come up with one of my own):

Dirty Tricks:
- Master Snipers
- Preliminary Bombardment

Armoury:
- Combat Engineers

Obstacles:
- Barricades
- Razor Wire
- Tank Traps

Homebrew:
- Booby Traps (designate one piece of Terrain as Dangerous, after rolling for Deployment - only enemy models can trigger the Booby Traps, so friendly models are unaffected)

one day i will get round to actually trying these out...

hope that helps :)
