Battle Missions

Postby thesignaller » Fri Jul 01, 2011 6:57 pm

Hi

Want to try the Kill Team game in Battle Missions (200 points)

I can't see it any where but can any one tell me are vehicles allowed?

My lad wants to use a Tactical Marine Squad with Razorback transport.

Normally you can only have Elite/Troop/Fast but can armies take dedicated transport?

At least he isn't taking a dreadnought!!!

Thanks

Yes, but the leadership thing is a problem.(see link)

Its allowed but its actually complex as many units of one, only 1 guy (1unit) can ever climb in it unless you create a houserule that many units can board the same vehicle.

Yes, like normal.Read the little paragraph under the dedicated transports bit in the codex your using, it doesn't take up a slot etc etc :D

Dreadnought is kind of a terrible point sink.(versus a lascannon +tankhunter etc) And he can't benefit from alot of the USRs.
You can find some other questions that WILL come up here

You may also need a randomiser for closecombat if you play more than 2 players in a game.

There are a few threads around with scary killteams.. my money is still basically on things like mech vets+sentinal.( )
Barely even lurking..

Not really.
Kill team is a special scenario.
One of the rules is that each model is treated as an individual unit.
As such, kill team is usually restricted to infantry models only.

If he wants to field a tank, you could just do a small battle using any of the scenarios in the rule book, just limit the points for each side, and limit the FOC selections as you wish. For very small points (around 200) it is recommended that you use a 3 foot or 4 foot square board to keep the battle controlled.

This plus everything that KMB said will point you in the right direction.

Thanks for the replies.

I will get him to re-allocate the points for the vehicle.

Least my 15 orks wont get too worried!!

We were only going to have 2 aside and play a few games in one afternoon. Make a change from our usual bigger games

TW, not sure if you realise this but the current "40k in 40 minutes" rules are what GW call the "School League" rules available here: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/conte ... Id=4300008

The PDF rules on that page are at the bottom: http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_Cus ... ck_New.pdf
