So I buy a SW IC and give him saga of the hunter, ability to outflank, I then put him in a dedicated razor and attach him to some wolf guard, in PA, I want to bring them all on under outflank yes or no ?

The thing is the ability to outflank is not actually a USR but a by product of infiltrate, hunter does not give you infiltrate but does give outflank only, so he cant lose the USR by joining a squad cos he didn't have it to start, hold water?

I could not find any previous posts to cover this but if there was please ignore me

The following is in the FAQ:

Q. Can an Independent Character that has
joined a Wolf Scouts pack outflank? What about
if he has the Saga of the Hunter?
A. No he cannot. He can only join an outflanking
unit if he has the ability to outflank because of
the Saga of the Hunter.

So taking that logic and reversing - if a Unit without ability to outflank joins the IC with saga of the hunter, neither would be able to outflank.

Ah a solid rebuff, I did see this in the FAQ, however I believe the reason for that answer is the rules concerning USRs, ie if one element of the group doesn't have the USR then in certain cases the USR can't be used by the unit that does.

I think this is a RAI than RAW - they should have written that Saga of Hunter gives the IC Infiltrate (which in turn allows him to Outflank).

I think the plan to give the Razorback and the Wolf Guard outflank on such loose technical wording is pushing it a bit far.
The RAI is to enable a heroic character to sneak up on his own or with like skilled collegues on the opponent.
Trundling up in a Razorback with a pack of blood battle hardened elites - seems to me not to fit the picture.

But if you want to go RAW and as you say it's not a USR - do it till we get a FAQ on it.
