I would suggest interpretting the rules as close as possible with some common sense. I.e. - Rules state that to deploy a model must have some part of its base within 2" of an access point. Now open topped vehicles as we know (cheaty beardy scum) make that everywhere. But for the closed vehicles I would suggest that as long as part of the models base is in 2" of the door of a vehicle. (Top of a land raider side hatch, top of a rhino rear door etc.) then regardless of the level it is on as long as that stipulation is met then it is legal. Just make sure the rest of the squad remain in coherency.

My take is this: for a squad in ruins, to remain in coherency across levels, as long as the base from one is within 2 inches of the head of the chap below then thats fine. So jumping out of a transport, as long as the models base is within 2 inches of the access point in any direction it's no problem. It might seem a bit 'real world' odd, but a line must be drawn to make the game flow. So base within 2 inches? Yes it's fine.

Unless anything has changed since I last played, I would measure 2" from all points on the exit(s), in every direction, creating a 3 dimensional "bubble" around the vehicle (or multiple "bubbles" if there is more than one exit). The disembarking models can be placed anywhere as long as the edge of their base is at least touching (or inside) the "bubble".

So in the case of a Rhino parked on the ground floor of a building, you measure 2" straight up from the top of the side door, and this will probably give you a total height of about 4" - more enough to disembark a model onto the first floor above the transport (assuming 3" floors).

Hope this helps :)

Yes, we are good TW. Busy, tired, but otherwise good. I finally found work again a couple of months ago, and things are going well there. :)

Cheers :)
