Furious charge

Postby Freddie the fist » Fri Apr 01, 2011 2:30 pm

In my black Templar army list it gives me the option to give my terminators the furious charge skill for 3 points each. If I attach my emperors champion to the squad does he also get furious charge? If so do I have to pay the points for him or does he get it for free?

no he doesn't. the squad doesn't loose it though. he has to pay for it himself (if it's an option in his own section) he can't buy it from the terminator section because he has joined them.

First the helpful quote bit "all models in terminator command squad *including leading attached characters*"=fixed for them at least.
Then the messy bits;
Its not asterisked in the USR section, so its not lost when something else joins.
He doesn't have it, so if this was infiltrate he'd have to have it to be with them to use it..
So they keep it, he doesn't have it..
p48 special rules "the unit’s special rules are not conferred upon the character"
regular elite termies "all models in a squad"
Thread that doesn't help= http://www.lounge.belloflostsouls.net/s ... php?t=8384
Comes down to "models"? in USR description of a new unit containing the IC+previous unit? (as in how everyone now plays command squads with a captain attached in terms of FNP)

"SM.55A.01 – Q: If an Independent Character joins a Command Squad with an Apothecary does he gain the „Feel No Pain‟ universal special rule?
A: Yes, as the Narthecium is a piece of Wargear that specifies which models gain the special rule [clarification]."
"RB.48B.02 – Q: Independent Characters joining a unit do not gain the unit‟s special rules unless “specified in the rule”. What exactly does this mean and does it apply to special rules that have been conferred to the unit by another character?
A: A special rule must specifically mention that it applies to Independent Characters joining the unit for it to be conferred, and this includes special rules granted to the unit by another character. Please note that this only applies to “special rules” (as defined in their codex) and to the “universal special rules” found in the rulebook, not to Wargear or Psychic Powers [clarification].

RB.49A.01 – Q: When an Independent Character"

And then I was sure there was something that said that stealth was implied from a commisar lord onto a 50 man blob squad and telion had cloack of giving.. but I can't find that ..and that one may be asterisked anyway...(brainmelty)
Oh yeah..latest faq "Q: If only some of the models in a unit have the Stealth special rule, does the whole unit benefit from the +1 cover save? (p76)
A: Yes. In effect the ones with the Stealth special rule ensure their colleagues also find good places to hide."
(Stealth is also not asterisked, but talks in terms of unit, not models)

= I dunno

(when did I become so crap with rules?)

Furious charge is a simple one. It says "Models with this skill..." so as Anglewing said the unit doesn't confer it upon the IC and vice versa, but any model with furious charge gains the benefit.
Very similar to assault grenades where only the models equipped with the grenades gain the benefit.
