GK intercepter squads.

Postby KInG » Sun Mar 20, 2011 2:01 am

These guys are unit type: infantry.

But they get personal teleporters: units with personal teleporters are jump infantry it says. Then goes on to describe how once per game they can do a 30" jump.

My question is are they jump infantry for the rest of the game?

If the answer is yes we have flying dreadknights now, coz they can have them also!!!

Until it gets FAQed otherwise, Jump Infantry for the game regardless of whether they use the big jump or not. I think it's just a fudge to prevent the need for some type of marker or token to know when they would change their status.

KIng- read this, don't get bored half way through.

The one bit you don't phrase as a question is dubious.
Yes intercepters have a thing.
That thing makes them jump infantry. (although it would appear that it may be faqqed there seems to be some smudgeon that they'd intended for the devices to be a bit more orky than the rules state, if you shunt through the warp- you shouldn't assault, but being default class: jump infantry seems to override this if your shunt warping only 12 rather than 30")
Problems with your 3rd point

Dreadknights on their page they don't have personal teleporters as wargear, does their unit entry at the back allow them (I haven't read all the unit options, but I know that no techmarine, librarian or IC can buy),if so then yes..Although watch out for an FAQ that may say they can't assault after which makes them kind of pointless (you might as well run for free).

Personal teleporter (interceptor page) very clearly in the codex description says the rules apply only to interceptors not bredknifes "(Intercepter squads only)" (the counter to this is the brackets are a disambiguation between strike squads and interceptors and not meant in a wider context.)

Wargear section of the book "teleport homers" different thing entirely, but also lists those units that can teleport around the place and use a homer, this list does not include the breadknife.

(Anyway you can still use the libby to summon them all over the place)

The question remains, in the back do they have an option to buy a personal teleporter? (or were you just reading a teleport homer or something with optimistic eyes)
If yes- the argument still has some legs.(my last 2 points are kind of circumstantial evidence (weak leaps) as I hope I conveyed)

EDIT- I've looked around the webs- it appears lots of other people say you are right AND twin it with a scout move from the grandmaster.(looks a little precarious if people start moaning a lot to GW about teh codex generally though..there is wiggle room to nerf it)
