Pics online (In my gallery). I am currently tinkering with the idea of magnetised weapon heads, or just drillling nice long tight pin into both weapon heads.

You could also use squared tubing. Basically the idea is you have one side with one size tube And the other with a slightly smaller to fit inside. Makes removal a snap and also is very secure for direction and stuff. Works best on larger models due to the tubing sizes.

Like a lego bricks connection, doofus, instead of 1mm magnets on the barrel.
He actually explains the concept in his post V well :P.
(but its not for me)

Picture :Here the part on the right is able to attach to the piece on the left due to its larger tubing..Now imagine each piece is on a different bit of mini= thats what he means.

Is it a really stupid idea but would Lego actually make a good replacement for magnets?

Either 1 stud rounds, 1 glued to each section (and as it's plastic it would glue with Polycement...)
or for joint the have leverage against them (like arms) could the Technic cross shaped axles and bushes be used?

Replaceable, no polarity, and cheap (4p each for the studs or bushes, 6 p a section for Cross Axels).

Thoughts?

I would say no due to their size. I guess in really large models it may work, but the tubing in those cases is likely to be easier to manage with since its simples drilling a hole and glueing the tube in. Actually I have to say the hardest part is cutting the brass tubing.

And that can be done with a razorn saw and mitre box or a small pipe cutter.

Done both over the years.
