Is Urien a Haemonculus?

Postby timewizard » Thu Dec 22, 2011 3:45 am

As the title states.

In the DE codex, Urien Rakarth has a notation that says he is a Master Haemonculus and that wracks are troop choices in an army that includes him.

In the Haemonculus entry, you may include between one and three haemonculus per HQ choice, only one of which may be an ancient.

Urien is not listed as a haemonculus ancient.

So the question is, could I take Urien and 5 haemonculus, 2 being ancient?

Or if I take Urien, can I only take 3 Haemonculuc?

I don't have the codex but from what you've said I'd say no. It doesn't sound like the intention is to grant you a free hq slot.

Why isnt it allowed?? I would love to hear your reasoning on this as I don't see why you couldn't. Is it cheesy, yes. But is it not allowed?? Not from what I can tell. My line of reasoning is this:

1) Urien is a Master Haemonculus.
2) Urien has the Master Haemonculus rule, which allows Wracks to be troops choices, the same as the Lord of Coven's rule for the other Haemonculus.
3) It states under the Haemonculus HQ choice that you may have between one and three Haemonculi, and the only restriction on this is that only one may be an Ancient. It states nothing about a Master Haemonculus. So you could by the rules have Urien, an Ancient, and a regular Haemonculus under one HQ slot, and an Ancient and two regular Haemonculus under the other. You just cant run two Urien's because he is unique.

Now, someone tell me the part that I missed, cause I am sure I am missing something, otherwise I am gonna start shelling out the cash to run a Coven of the Thirteen Scars army!! :D

It says nothing about greater daemons either so would you add them? :)

Page 37 you have Haemonculus and Haemonculus Ancient.
Page 54 you have a Urien Rakarth

Page 85 the Haemonculus slot shows Haemonculus and Haemonculus Ancient, gives their points and refers you to page 37 for both.

Why am I still awake? lol
