Necron Lord

Postby thesignaller » Thu Sep 26, 2013 2:15 pm

In the codex, the Necron Lord is listed as in the Royal Court.

Can he be used as a HQ option on his own?
And if so do you use the points fro the Royal court entry?

Many thanks

You can buy 0-5 necron lords (+/0-5 Crypteks) from them.. they do not count as an HQ.(so aren't part of your 1-2 HQ FOC)
You can only buy them if you unlock them.. by buying for example a necron overlord. once you have unlocked them yes you may field a single necron lord for the price listed.
Barely even lurking..

I was hoping to field one as an HQ option without any other HQ figures.

Will have to rethink

Unfortunately, as KMB noted, the royal court cannot be taken without an overlord.

What are you trying to come up with? Maybe we can help.

I'll make an ass/u/me tion.
And guess he wants to save 55 points when all he wants is a naked min FOC fulfilled for an ally unlock?

No, not the reason.

Without looking at codex properly, my son got a Lord - cos he liked the look of it to paint - and we assumed it would be in codex as a HQ option.

I'm now getting blame!! LOL As his army isn't strictly legal.

Have told him as long as he only plays against me or his brother, we'll let him use it as a option.

In the last Necron edition, the lord was an HQ choice.

You could always let him proxy it as an overlord.

There is no m odel difference for the lord or overlord. They are the same models just different ranks.

I defer to the Necron Master! ;)

An overlord it may be!
