Cassius exploit?

Army lists, battle reports, and discussion of tactics

Postby timewizard » Tue Jul 21, 2009 6:58 pm

I would think so. But this is the ongoing problem of trying to use generally accepted terms for GW game terms. Sometimes they are the same as common usage, other times they seem to be quite different.
But that's what keeps rules forums alive!
Maybe that's part of GW's 'Master Plan'!? 8O

Just to take that "unit" slightly further.

Put cassius, lysander, and a few stern guard in a drop pod.

1st turn cassius has llittle effect, but lysander gives rerolls on all shooting which will hurt something a lot!

2nd turn you have a T6 Lysander. This solves the instant death dilemma, gives you lots of 2+/3++ and 3+/4+(FnP)

This unit will run you probably somewhere in the region of 600 pts, but it will almost certainly take an objective for you, or crush part of an enemy line (which is brilliant in HQ missions).

Wouldnt ID use the model's real T value, not the Maj T of the unit?

Lysander is immune to instant death anyways. He has the Eternal warrior special rule.

Hi Gordon

I think he means that Lysander doesn't need T6 as he can't be insti killed anyways. :)

But still its a nasti unit, but any unit that costs u 600points should be immune to death, full stop I think lol
