2 advancing landraiders move 12
dreadnought hopes to move 6 + run so as to be closer to the enemy than yourself.
If its quarters you can't protect yourself. if its dawn of war you can only protect yourself if the reserve rolls are with you..If its pitched battle you send 1
AV unit off by itself up a flank..(tricky deployement given you don't know what your opponent is doing yet..what if he false flanks you because he knows you fear the dreadnought..)
thing I try to avoid in serious lists
A) choice.. versatility be damned I don't want to have to sit there working out which weapon should be used to be effect against what, that kind of in play extra mathhammer is an extra layer of thought I don't need.
B) fear.. I want my enemy to be messed up distracted..suffering choice (profusion of targets, panic as to mulitple fire units..whatever)..I want to minimize the risk/fear I feel from my own troops. It clears the way to be able to focus on the enemy.
(note my current GT list fails at that (plas bikes, 3 units deepstriking)..but thats because I'm going through a rather fluffy year)
