I think I've just volunterred to be the guinea pig shot at venus from a fireworks factory.
So the first post becomes a rolling attachment to the front page with mini mods sticking to it making it like a mini wiki? is that about right? I haven't been reading the correct threads

Rather than messing around with a rolling updated blog post, if we are going to be serious about writing, maintaining and updating a collection of tactics and our own articles (i'm writing up my Battlefield assessment guide ATM), wouldn't it be easier to host it all in a Wiki?
It would be a very good tool as it could not only host the tactics, with all the abilities of a wiki to control editing (to the author of the article and mod/s), a wiki could also hold the Lexicon, Useful links archives, and other lists that have come up.

From my experience on other forums (mtgsalvation for example) it can be arranged that only Forum registered members are allowed to edit the wiki, this along with the Groups function of board3 (the forum software) would allow us to control access wrinting access to people who demonstrated the ability to help out and the mod/s allowed to join (with oversight to make it fair).

This sort of arrangement would make less work for all involved as it would be up to one person to keep things updated. Members could add their own articles and be responsible for the addition of links with clear and simple methods for structure and media.

What do people think?
When you wish upon a star, your dreams can come true.
Unless it's a meteorite falling to Earth, which will destroy all life, then you're pretty much hosed no matter what you wish for.
Unless it's death by meteorite.

On another (non-pubic) thread, we are dicsussing using content management tools for articles such as this and items which appear on the homepage. That group can look at this as an example of content that can test the theory and see what happens.

Just aquired a new 2nd hand army (Orks) to play around with and natuarlly thought I'd come here and look up various tactics for the army and the various play styles available. Couldn't find a link in KMB's opening post. Anyone able to link me to some good (current) Ork tacticas?

I've come across this - but surely there are more?

Some to try
warseer's community thread..
http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthrea ... 33&page=95
Note that because of the "who loves orks" appreciation thread and it being not spess mawines..Its only 95 pages long(alot less spammage, still some repetition) .Has some good tips.. but ifs your in a rush always use the search function for keywords on specific units charectors.

All vague YTTHs links about orks
http://www.yesthetruthhurts.com/search/label/Orks

His (the webs) 3 main templates
http://www.yesthetruthhurts.com/2009/05/mech-orks.html
http://www.yesthetruthhurts.com/2009/02/nob-bikers.html
http://www.yesthetruthhurts.com/2010/02 ... ollas.html

Kirby and GW vs john have this one
http://kirbysblog-ic.blogspot.com/search/label/Orks
The "Armies in 5th: Orks Part x,y+z" articles are quite good..but I don't think orks are their specialist subject.

Oh and dakka have slowly taken voodoo boyz tactica and brought it slightly more upto date

Any specific questions? If you find a chunk of pure gold do tell us :D

Just a bump to not shut, and also.
I've just (by request, girly squirm) written a long essay compiling current uses of the lash

(which i shall add to the first post..anyone else found any philosophers stones of perfect tactics lately?)

Super thread my good man. Your beard is long and fullsome and fully deserves a generous combing! Thread offers sound tactical advice, and I was amused by the idea of the orks spelling out rude words! ;-)

If I had time I would start a tactica blog for KMB & I.

But I don't.

There's definately a gap in the market somewhere between Stelek's "If you play less than 2500 points you're not playing properly" and Kirby's trainwreck list building at 1500-2000 points (and his constant, and annoying self aggrandisment).

Still it couldn't be worse than BOLS!

Wave your arms and shout

I was thinking, since I'm linking to your PDF.. I probably ought to come up with some OC for it..
There are bits and pieces where I read it and say "but it should say more...even if its just for deathwing".

I'm up for it staying your baby but me throwing some stuff at you for it if you want.
