5+ at the same level, 6 at a different level, for air to air. For ground to air it's a 6 all the time. However, some weapons are vicious at close range, a single shot from some can be a lot more than just 1 dice
Adding a weapon that needs say a 2+ to damage, and while it might take a couple of turns, it's not impossible. However, look at the Eldar - those flyers get a 5+ save against all damage! I can't wait till I get my Phoenix and Vampires
if so then) you would need 42 shots to cause enough hits and that isnt even taking into account having to cause the damage. Which makes it absolutely nails especially since the equivalent points of chaos would give about 8 fighters all with only 4 ammo giving only 32 shots, meaning it impossible to take out, granted you'd take the bombers as well but still I think you get my point
Don't forget that Ammo is an advanced rule - in the basic rules all weapons are unlimited ammo. The advanced rules are nice though, especially the additional Ace abilities.
