Forum organisation

Postby Spack » Sun Sep 07, 2008 11:36 am

As some of you may have noticed the forum list has changed. Some new forums have appeared, some have disappeared (ones moved from GF), and some have moved up or down the list. Hopefully this won't cause too much grief, but we're open to suggestions on how to better organise the list.

making better use of the sub forum abilty is the way I'm looking at it. If a sub forum needs expanding then it should move up a tear, take on a 'full forum' status and then be split.

Therefore Helpdesk would have sub forums of general, gallery, and vdr/tdr, and then Helpdesk could move into the General |Forums which are at the top instead of being a main forum header.

Doesn't need a separate one - the helpdesk can cover everyone :)

I haven't explained very well, this means the main forum heading of 'helpdesk' would go, meaning less forums

I appreciate the term helpdesk can cover anyone who needs help..but I would suggest that optimally more people may have questions\reasons to post about GF service\site delivery etc and how good it is, rather than say the gallery helpdesk forum (which might just be handled with expansion of the FAQ).
Or is this a fluid thing and as stuff starts rolling in you'll adapt and change these kind of things fairly frequently? (sly wink with teasing tones :) )

It's easy enough to adjust as required - for now a single helpdesk forum would be plenty.

A service feedback forum could be handy though :)

General Discussion Forums:

- The Site
- - Announcements
- - New Members
- - Events/Competitions

- Helpdesk
- - GF Store
- - AoS Forums
- - AoS Gallery
- - Vdr/Tdr Programs

the white are sub-forums, meaning a much smaller list

Very pretty very clear..
"40K Apocalypse Datasheets" as a subset of rules.. possibly might need hombrew or unofficial or WIP or something adding so that folks don't think your hosting the GW ones?

True, the description mentioned homebrew but that doesn't appear with subforums. Adjusting now :)

And with a little more tweaking, subforums are now shown in 2 columns if there are more than 3.

Looks good so far, much easier to navigate.
