No not the stupid mysetry box.. this
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catal ... rod1060097 / http://www.gamingfigures.com/viewProduc ... oduct=2191
I want to be able to get 2 basic bikers, and a sargent (which I can put a fist on) as cheaply as possible. Will this box allow that(as in I can just not choose to use the arms with the melta on and keep those arms for spares, using other arms that come on the spru??), or does the plastic have the plasma guns and stuff grafted on to the torso (and no spare arms)..
I could buy that at £24.50*
or just buy 3 basic bikers and mod one up considerably.. £17.55* (before taking into account cost of sawing off head, finding a replacement and fitting a fist..but that would need to be done anyway)

*note prices before the good discounts available from gaming figures.com

Any advice, knowledge of the sprus etc is welcome..

2) Ironclads, when are they due out.. will they accept a suitably modelled up regular dread through till xmas at GW tables, I'mm umming and arring about buying myself a GT ticket.

3) what is a regulation attack bike base

Cheers for your respsonses.

Yes, this should work. Just build up 2 bikers as normal from the sprues without special weapons - the plasma, sgt, and melta are separate single piece torsos (heads, body, arms, weapons) in metal, but you still get the basic torsos on the plastic sprues (you get 3 single bike sprues, plus the metal parts, hence the higher cost than the 3 single bikes on their own). With the sgt you could either take the metal body and remove the sword and then add a fist, or you could use a plastic body and use a plastic marine arm.

If you don't need the special weapons and sgt (ie the metal parts) then get 3 single bikes. I've got plenty of spare marine heads (including a metal one from the Deathwatch pack with his mouth wide open, not sure if he's shouting or going OOOO ), and I can probably find a spare fist too.

The latter option saves you money, and you don't end up with spare parts.

2) Ironclads are already in stock: http://www.gamingfigures.com/viewProduc ... oduct=3673 . I would assume they'd allow a suitably converted Dreadnought too, best to check with WHW events team.

3) Attack bikes don't have bases. I'd suggest maybe a bike base under the bike, and a 40mm under the sidecar, but anything suitable should be fine. If you're asking about the GT, again ask the WHW events team.

What about the ravenwing bike squadron? You get a plethora of plastic parts, that allow you to model your bikes any way you want, as well as three bike sprues.

Attack bikes fit perfectly onto the 50mm square bases. They will also probably fit nicely on 60mm round ones.

Hope that helps.

I'm ok for head and fist, but I might need 3 dreadnought bases(potentiall attack bike bases, as I'm using old cavalry bases, the base the bikes came on, and 5cm square bases at the mo)..2 melta bombs, possibly a grey knights right arm with its halberdy weapon (relic blade) melta gun and possibly a canister to make a heavy flamer look impressive ..but I'm working with ljundhammer to graft stuff together (and scratch building like one oh) so I may not need it.
But I might need the above, if you wish to dig early :D
(PM me if you have any of it and what you want for it  )

I might have a couple of melta bombs, but I don't think I have the rest. What I would suggest is that you try and track down a White Scars upgrade for the bikes - one of the torsos has a halberd in one hand, which will be easier than trying to get a GK one to look right (the GK shoulder pads are a little larger than standard marine ones and covered in fine detail which might look out of place).
