Airfix 1/48 scale buildings

Postby RotweillerofJustice » Wed Jan 11, 2012 8:01 pm

http://www.airfix.com/2012/

Hi all.
The above link is to the 2012 airfix release news. If you scroll down you'll find two 1/48 scale desert type buildings that they plan to release.
How close is this scale to 40K as I think they would make good buildings for a 40K battlefield?
Your thoughts.

1/48th isn't too bad. They should list the dimensions somewhere?

A 1/48th WW2 tank is similar in footprint to a 40k tank, although 1/35th seats fit orks nicely...

1/48th for vehicles is pretty close to GW scale vehicles, 28mm heroic scale is around 1:60 with the oversizing GW does, so 1:72 will be too small and 1/35 is definitely far too large (last 1/35 scale WWII tank I bought was about the same size as a Baneblade).

28mm Heroic is taken as 1/56 these days, I use 1/48th tanks withem though and they fit in just fine.

Also look at the 1/48th Airfix MRAPS for vehicle options if your not GW tournament wedded.
