Bat rep, r4 vs skaven.

Gah! Bloody mice again in the paiting room!
No clue how they get in, but, as I have done no painting in a treebeards age, the room has become a solitary and lonely place ... until mickey fogging mouse and his evil cohorts returned!

Day 1.
Placed wood sheets and newspaper in fiendish ambush sites.
Loaded each with cheese laden traps.
Waits progress.

Late evening and "kerthwack!"
Upon inspection, 1 trap has sprung, no corpse-mouse, no cheese.
Upon closer yet inspection, the wire leading to death-plate has broken.
Sucessful only in catapulting cheese across room.
1-0 to mice.

Next morning, 1 trap no spring no cheese.
2-0 to mice.
1 trap sprung, 1 dead mouse!
2-1 to mice!

Dead mouse was obviously some kind of deviant, as it approached the trap "side-on" so did not get neck broken/skull smashed, but was nearly chopped in half across shoulders.
Attempts at removing said mouse proved impossible without gory carnage.
Whole thing gets thrown away.

Yesterday.
Forgot to set trap, left a bit of cheese on side.

This morning.
Got up and found cheese missing. More enemies there are.
3-1 to mice!

Set remaining trap with mars bar remnant.
Am concerned at the atrition of my ordnance pool.

Propaganda ministry produces encouragement ... carry on regardless.

I find the best thing is a cat. Do not believe what you saw as a kid in Tom & Jerry cartoons... Just get a cat, a litter tray and a bowl of water. Leave the cat in the room for 12 hours (hence tray and water) and all mice will be dead.

Use peanut butter or sunflower seeds, not cheese.

I 2nd peanut butter, but if you want the atomic bomb of mice ammo its got to be jelly babies, brake in half, put in your mouth so the salvia starts to release the sugery smell and boom, dead mice. I favour the orange ones :-)

Cats are V dodgy ratters,
1 of mine was a furious fat lady who'd torture them to death, you'd find legs all over the place and a skull mountain in her bed if you cleaned it-she'd go on a killing spree to please khorne.(much maimed and walking wounded mice, birds +frogs stumbling round my kitchen needing a swift heel to the head) I once forgot to feed her and she put a pair of bird wings layed out either side of my pillow (horses head styly)

1 of mine was kind of garfield and would live and let live,(in house) unless he was showing a younger cat how to hunt, in which case he's stun them, bring them in and wait till they woke up in the hope that someone would then kill it and put it in his mouth..He brought in 5 mice and never finished 1 off. (still alive..smelly cat)
1 of mine thought I was a mouse attacked me and shat in my sink every day for 3 months until she decided I wasn't worth her time and ran off.(she killed 1 brought to her by great great uncle /\ a friend video'd the family bonding skull crunch)

Talking of cats, this is doing the rounds on facebook, thought I'd share

But give him credit for going "where no one has gone before"! :D

Jolly lucky for him she didn't roll over when he was down there, else the next guy would have found Clint! 8O

She has a stage name, I expect many many folks have traversed those canals/flood plains.

Well, I hope Clint never loses the "n" in his name, 'cause he'll never find it!

Update!
This morning, found a mouse, caught by trap, just by a bit of skin on its leg.
It saw me and started trying to drag the trap behind it. Shame really.

Took it outside, thought about letting it go, but no, I'm going to squash you, you annoying f****r! Raised the thing above my head to throw it down and the tenuous grip was lost and it flew away over the back gate and was lost.

0-0 draw, perhaps???

Quite possible, but it seems likely that few have ever gone that deeply and gotten to the bottome of the issue.

Many spelunkers have explored many caves, but only a few are brave enough to try the depths of the Krubera Cave!

@ruffian - When the mouse when for a flight over the gate, did it still have the trap attached to its leg/paw?

If not, +1 mouse as it will surely head straight for the nerest rodent hospital to be casted sewn up. :D (re-read the bit about being caught by a bit of its skin! 8O )
If so, +1 mouse for concocting a successful strategy for stealing your trap!

@ruffian - remember that you must be sure to treat the skaven in a humane manner, else you'll have the PETA folks after you like they came after the wizard.

No, I held onto that quite majestically.
Shouldn't have bothered though, as another bit of choccy has gone and no trap-reaction, so it's a piece of craptrap, it seems.

4-1, I is getting moidered. :|

Then you need a better mousetrap, and the rodents will beat a path to death's door! (Apologies to Ralph Waldo Emerson!)
