I just found out (through old posts) that there is a WH40K movie out there. How did I miss this and whats going on at there website? I tried to find out about it and I couldn’t get past the countdown clock.

Does anybody know what’s going on?

It was pretty to easy to miss, as it was a direct to DVD release only available direct from the studio.

I think the overpriced was refering to the £25 boxed set DVD. And that's only SD too ...

already got two copies of the film...

Or go to the naughty places on the web and download damnatus.. the good 40k film (/inquisitor style rather combat patrol)
There is another interesting film in development.. but its toothgrindingly slow dev and may have stalled.

Same thing happened to me with The Lord Of the Rings DVD. I bought it and had a fit when I watch the extra that talks about the Extended version that would be coming out soon.

Whilst many people excused it by saying now they've found a market they will start doing proper ones..
I don't believe their marketing and core direction people stick to their guns for long enough for a films production cycle (especially not a whole set of them).
(looks to game directions flim flamming from one view to another based on who is most popular on staff at the moment).
A good question.. have they made their money back from it? was it as cheap to make as it looked and just rinsing its core geek demographic covered its expense+some, or is it hoping that 4 years from now netflix repeats at 3$ a watch will recoup?

Wiki doesn't have any financials on it so I don't know.

Films can be successful based essentially on just DVD sales (Dog Soldiers is one such film) so it's possible.....
