Getting Started in Infinity

Postby markb » Tue Jun 16, 2015 11:43 am

Ok, after looking around I have decided to start Infinity. My question is what do I need to get started properly. I have a starter budget of £100 so what would be best? Would it be worth me getting Operation Icestorm and the Human Sphere expansion book? Or is it better to get the main rule book, Human Sphere and a few blisters of models to get myself a starting faction? Does Icestorm have the full rules or is it a cut down version? Is Human Sphere needed for a new player?

I realise that Icestorm has scenery and things but I don't know if I would collect the armies in the box as I don't really know what each faction plays like, although I am sort of leaning towards the Ariadna just because of the aesthetics, who doesn't like werewolves!

Any advice would be welcome from people who have a lot more knowledge of the game than me.

The rulebook you can download direct from infinity website. Human Sphere book is due to be updated soon so hang fire on that.

I have a disc here I got from Nige that has all the relevant details you will require.

I wouldn't bother with the Icestorm set unless you inted to play it at home.

I personally looked at what models I liked the look of, and then chose from there.

Cheers Gav.

What's the average points value of a normal game, I'm looking at doing a Caledonian Ariadnian force.

300pts is a full game.
Although as some of us are still learning Id aim for 150pts until you are happy with the dynamics.
300pts for me as a panociana player is just about 10 models but you might find you need a lot more.

Cheers Chris. I've had a skim through the rules and saw that it was 300 puts so I've put together a 300 pt Caledonain army and ordered it from Gav. It's 14 models.
