Heresy Miniatures - back with Vengeance!

Postby Daz » Tue Aug 19, 2014 11:01 am

Hi all :D

Just thought I'd share the word that Andy Foster of Heresy Miniatures has launched a kickstarter to revive his monsters range. As a fan of old Dungeon crawlers, his models are great! His kickstarter project funded in less than an hour!!

He is still producing miniatures, though some of his stuff isn't (e.g. The Netherlord). Unfortunately he is a one man band struggling in this economy of huge miniature companies. Now he is (hopefully) making a great comeback! Then he can get his Netherhells Dungeon Crawler created, which should be a lot of fun! :D

The Winged Netherlord is one of my favourite figures, has pride of place on one of my shelves. So glad I bought it years ago. I see there's a resin version on the Kickstarter page though :(

I've had a few figures from Heresy, and they've all been of very high quality and far better than the majority of stuff being churned out by GW.

Yeah I also own a winged Netherlord - awesome mini. I have pledged at the Pantheon level of Andys Kickstarter to get another one! I've got quite a lot of miniatures from Heresy and they have always been excellent quality.

Was kickstarter out in 2011? This is when the Dragon was added to the catalog. It's all resin now, and he is shifting them. In my opinion he should be charging more for that beast too - its huge! :D

I like his stuff, and own quite a few of his ogres and other stuff in my blood bowl team. But I think I'll sit this out given the dragon debacle...

Am I the only one who knows nothing at all about this Dragon thing?

Lol. The Dragon is Heresy Miniatures biggest creature. Andy sculpted it in 2010 I believe and added to the catalog on 2011. He made it as a multi-part metal miniature, but then the price of metal sky-rocketed. He also had other problems involved - he needed a bigger pressure caster for one.

Last year he had some advice given to him from the director of Antenociti's Workshop about casting in resin, which was a big learning curve from metal. Now he produces the Dragons, about 2 per week at the moment, in resin.

So this Kickstarter has come about to help Andy to produce his old product range in resin, wipe his debt's clean (which it will) and get the Dragon queue done and sorted by the end of the year.

After that he plans on making a dungeon crawling game, which will be full of character and humor :D

Check out loads of images of the Dragon here: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=heres ... 66&bih=608

I hope this helps Darklighter! :D

Good luck to him, he's always been very sound in all my dealings with him.
