There actually is an invite forum somewhere around the place for confused gordy who was working on an app at some point..
I don't know pants all about coding, some other smo will do it for me if I barter my ninjaness away, but basic business principles have to kick in to show you're not just doing a nige.
Are we talking apple, across the range or specific, are we talking android (I have a friend who made a couple of things for a joke) or are you talking MS phones (/ nokia etc)..which I gave up on after that whole symbian signed certificates sillyness of their 2nd gen smartphones (but Matt and Spack know stuff about those)..
Of the 3 IIRC the only big thing is that android market doesn't charge as much, and as a platform things can be downloaded from anywhere without requiring people butcher their phones..so its a slightly easier market to mess around with.
What are you building, a simple calculator, something new, an old twist on something existing?
Something requiring 3rd party authorisation (a friend whos a games designer has had to scrap last minute a "the thing" "aliens" games because new movies came out and the copyright holders suddenly shot up the % they wanted image rights. Dracula however is good to go, hammer are cool.
I'll ask dude who made a few silly android things what he used, I think basically he used notepad.
(I'll stop talking now so proper IT peeps can step up)
