Oh..hang on..

Yeah, I'm with you Matt, my copy seems to have the roll off and re-roll chapters confuesd so the book is all messed up.

Oh wait, just checked the GW site, the dice rolling FAQ is up, but it's under the "Lord of the Warhammer 40K Fantasy" section so it's a little tough to find.

Books? If you mean Black Library novels, I get all mine from Play.com - cheaper there than I can even get them at wholesale.

Dang, that made me laugh. Does it come with special dice? If so, put me down for a copy.

I'm sure if GW start removing metal from the stores altogether, they would surely have to start doing plastic HQ etc. Its not to far a stretch either. You can already get plastic Elites for nearly every army they produce. And some HQ's too. I think all metal figures will eventually be relegated to the Online store eventually. I for one like the idea of more plastics, they are easier to convert and customise.

As for the coment about people using GW's less. I can believe that too. GW could save money on staffing them

If they reduced the amount of shops they could, theoretically, reduce the price of their models. However we all know this won't happen!

Bet Ian (Skywalker) wishes that book was real, he'd probably have ordred 2 copies!

Even if I had ordered the book it still would not make my dice rolling any better. I am blaming those weighted dice I bought off that dogy looking guy at GF

estarriol wrote:SPeaking of news from GW, and this broke Wednesday, not today:

GW is apparently suspending all metal casting for 3 months due to supply issues.

Smart money is that metal figs from them will become mail order only, so they can cast on demand rather than having expensive metal sat in shops (and possibly not selling(Nagash))!

Just been reading up on a few more forums about this, and I've seen comments from people who have been fairly reliable with info in the past suggest that metal will be replaced with resin cast figures and the 3 month suspension is to start clearing existing metal figure stocks. Resin makes sense from a cost point of view, and they can use most of the existing metal casting equipment to cast resin figures. The same masters can be used with very little change to the mold making process.

On the flip side is having to add more warning labels to products about the risks of inhaling resin dust when converting figures, warping of figures, and resin batches being mixed incorrectly, but these are all things they've had to deal with via FW anyway so already have experience of them.

Will be interesting to see if this bears out - GW moving to mainstream use of resin could prove beneficial to FW too with being able to push popular models through the main GW production lines if space is available.

GW mail order switched to plain brown boxes a while back. Those white boxes with the troll and childish writing were embarrassing.
