Old 40k editions and Codexs

Postby estarriol » Sun Jul 01, 2012 5:44 pm

Is there any market for them?

Or are they recycling fodder or free to a good home?

Sensible answers please.

Got a few rulebooks and codexs and even a WH rulebook that are now deemed taking up weight and space.

i tend to keep em on a shelf and pull them out for painting inspiration, or just to look back at old terrain. not long back i sat and read the original ork rules from rogue trader, and realised the writing back then was funnier, and more in keeping with the ethos of the hobby IMO than now where codex creep rules GW world
there may be a market for some old and rare codex, i cant see any harm in posting what you got and inviting bids, you might get something in trade at the least, the good thing about the hobby is peoples willingness to share

1st edition gets a decent amount of money. Everything else seems to go for not much. I've kept all my old rules/dexes as they do have some nice bits and pieces of fluff in them, especially all second edition books and third edition big rulebook.

Ebay completed listings, use them dan yo san :D
Theres 3rd ed codexes out there being sold.. mostly by people being vague about which edition they are meant for.. occasionally they snag a sucker and get around £6 but mostly they go for between 1 and 3 pounds.

The intellectual market out there was there for a lot of 2nd and previous right up till last summer when the last few gaps were scanned by archivist types. Now your looking for those people still playing the games/antique dealers..tricky.

(This does remind me I have ruffians ancient chaos codex which I need to return to him somehow)
Barely even lurking..

I do have a rogue trader rule book, spine intact.

Its more I was shifting stuff and realised this un un-packed box from 2 moves ago contained the stuff. Box has been opened when looking for other things but I am looking to shift excess weight.
