Scorched grass

Postby mattjgilbert » Sun Jun 05, 2011 7:59 pm

I like the GW scorched grass and asked on Warseer if anyone knew who actually made it before GW rebranded it and quadrupled the price. Anyone know?

Someone suggested getting this (http://www.gamingfigures.com/viewProduc ... oduct=3534) as you get a huge bag of it plus other stuff. Is this worth it?

I have not used the GW stuff, but I have found that the model train materials seem to work very well as miniature modeling stuff as well.
The only "hobby" GW is interested in is lining their pockets with your money.

I use static grass from Galeforce nine.
Works as good as GW, diferent sized containers but I think the price is better than GW.

I've tried various other companies flocks and grasses over time (and have a variety). I just wondered what the original source of the scorched grass was as I like the colour.

That's my favourite grass too Matt. Looks more realistic and not as luminous. That's why I bought one of those table basing kits u linked too so my table matches my model bases.

GW have even brought a gaming mat out now with that darker grass on it I think.

So you think getting the whole kit just to get a bucket load of the grass is worth it?

Defo, there is enough in the pack to cover a 6' x 4' board with plenty left over so it should last you a good few years.
