What do you like on your mouse?

Postby timewizard » Thu Sep 30, 2010 11:05 am

Saw this today on my homepage (I regularly subscribe to weird news, go figure :o )

From the Associated Press;

Any of you from across the pond hear about this?

Yeah, this was on most of the news sites and printed in the tabloids ... 3 days ago! AP are a bit behind ...

EDIT: eugh, searching for mouse bread turns up some rather more unpleasant pics from other incidents, such as this one: http://www.businesspundit.com/bakery-fi ... -in-bread/

There was a good one with a mouse and a Topic bar a while back, the paper I read it in had an x-ray of the bar with the skeleton in!

Well, over here in the US, we have the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) to keep tabs on such atrocities

In fact, we have very strict laws about just how much insect parts and rodent hairs are permitted to be in our food.

http://www.sixwise.com/newsletters/05/0 ... r_food.htm

So in the US, not having insect and rodent parts in the food is actually against the law!

Now I know you folks across the pond can't wait to join us for supper! Right?

Burgers!
Sausages!
Bread!
It's a lucky dip diet!

"What did you have for dinner?"
"Beef!"
"That's reformed mechanically recovered nostril hairs for you then!"

I'm a happy consumer and all is well with the world!

Ah, this has triggered memories of a Fray Bentos pie I had once as a teenager - found a bolt from the filling machine in it which I nearly broke my teeth on. Got a nice apology and a box of free pies.

And back when I was much younger, I remember my dad having a packet of crisps (from the same company that made the Hedgehog flavoured ones) that tasted awful. Sent them back to the manufacturer, and they apologised and set a whole box of 48 of them to us free - that tasted exactly the same! Apparently they were supposed to taste like that ... :| The Hedgehog flavoured (later renamed to Hedgehog flavour - not the dropping of the "ed" - due to an issue of false advertising as they were flavoured with pork fat) crisps themselves were one of my favourties as a kid ...

Oh, a packet of Piglets (hollow corn crisps in the shape of little pigs) with a small plastic bag inside one of them, again a free box as a sorry.

And a tin of "stalkless" runner beans that contained stalks, that my mum sent off a complaint about and got a box of freebies.

This was all back in the days before people took companies to court for not writing "may contain nuts" on the packaging for bags of nuts ...

Err.... surely plants are much easier to catch than say, deer, that have a tendency to run away, or carnivores that have a tendency to try and return the favour?

Omnivore has problems chasing thin and surprisingly nimble vegetarian, due to 500lbs of undigestible red meat in belly ... awwww.

What are your teeth like? Well then, you're only getting half use out of them are'nt you, you inefficient trombone, think green!
