40k Campaign

Postby TheColonel » Tue Oct 18, 2011 6:19 pm

Okay folks as the title suggests it is campaign time, so without further ado............

+++Helheart+++

War rages in the Uhulis sector. The sector Governor, trying to keep control in Imperial hands, has several localised guard regiments battling the tide. Also in the area spearheading the counter assualt are a few Astartes chapters. The situation is now changing with Dark Eldar raids increasing and even sightings of their craftworld kin also being reported.

Working to aid war efforts is Inquisitor Argolen, a righteous beacon in the dark times, but even he has ulterior motives. He is tracking someone through the warzone, a lone Eldar seer. Argolen will stop at nothing to apprehend this individual. The reason for the hunt is because the Inquisitor belives his quarry is carrying a powerful artefact known as the Helheart.

Coolio - Chris, you okay for £2K? That should be about 150 guardsmen, shouldn't it ;-)

With a massive push on all fronts practically most imperial forces met with success with only the Black Templars and the Lion Guard suffering heavy losses. Showing characteristic disregard for their allies the Fire Hawks counter ambushed a force of dark eldar using imperial guardsmen as bait. Chaos warbands in the area made an attempt to direct Ork forces for their own means with dramatic failure following the severe mauling of one of the dark gods favoured champions.

Without further ado here are the match-ups for next week;

1: S. Dan vs Jim - the bait BFG page 70
2: Doug vs Martin - Surprise attack BFG page 72
3: Fred vs Lil' Chris - Fighting withdrawal battle mission page 78
4: Andy vs Craig - Surprise attack battle mission page 68
5: Phil vs Stu - Cut and run battle mission page 62
6: Chris vs Q - Implacable advance battle mission page 54
7: Sam vs Andy - Prepared assault battle mission page 42
8: Chris & Dan vs Big Jim & Chris - counter attack battle mission page 76
9: James & Graham vs Jamie & Dicko - Flank attack battle mission page 36

Good fight, good night

Hi Doug

I believe we are playing on Monday 21st. 2K alright? And are you ok with Characters or should I drop Logan?

There was a choice of two missions, neither of which I can remember the name of... So let's roll a dice on the night :-)

Cheers

Imperial forces continue the push but it is starting to slow as Chaos and Xenos plans begin to take their toll.
Ork forces staged a running battle with the Dark angels to search an Imperial city after some of their prisoners gave up information in the hope of being released alive. They were, only to have squigs set upon them.
The Eldar search for for the lone seer is being compounded by defeat, something or someone has thus far thwarted their attempts to read into the future.

Heres this weeks games.

1. Andy vs Q
2. Graham vs Martin
3. James vs Jamie
4. Dan vs Andy
5. Ian vs Dicko
6. Phil vs Big Jim
7. Chris vs Craig
8. Fred vs Chris
9. Doug vs Stu
10. Sam vs Jim

Players must roll off to see which force has the initiative. The following missions will be played depending upon this roll off.

Space marines play All round defence (battle mission page 70)
Eldar play Mobile defence (battle mission page 38)
Orks play Waaagh! (battle mission page 60)
Imperial guard play War of attrition (battle mission page 44)
Dark eldar play Feigned retreat (battle mission page 30)
Necrons play Reconaissance in force (battle mission page 52)
Chaos marines play Pillage (battle mission page 10)

Good fight good night
