Sounds like a great game guys. The edlar really turned it on towards the end. As for the new format of the BAttle Report; I like it, nice and simple and decent images. Only negative, and its a fairly large one for me when it comes to Battle Reports... I missed your map images alot on this one.

Unfortunately this was played round my garage where it is not possible to get overhead shots. I did take some long table shots but as most of the action happened down one end the detail was poor.

Will see with future club games: next one is my Dark Angels 1500pts versus Grahams Word Bearer Cultist list.

I do prefer the pdf way of doing batreps over the in-thread method. I think it's much easier to follow.

Good rep Phil :)

Just a small point Phil, the third HQ is legal as it is in the spearhead force not the 1500.
"Crom, i've never prayed to you before, i have no tongue for it.
No-one, not even you, will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought and why we died.
All that matters is that two stood against many, thats whats important.
Valor pleases you lord Crom so grant me one thing, grant me revenge.
And if you do not listen....then to hell with you!"

The 'Into the Maelstrom' rules state it is a normal 1500pts plus the Spearhead 1000pts, all of which must make a legal force.

The 1000pts Spearhead can have as many Spearhead formations as wanted plus FoC units from the basic FoC selection.

Thing is the combined 2500pts must still be a legal FoC plus Spearhead Formations.

So in your force Yriel the 3rd HQ is illegal.

Another point - the Skystorm Formation is made up of 3 Skimmer Transports and 3 Transported Units, now technically Yriel is a separate unit, so would count as 1 of the Transported units, so you have 4 transported units.

I know IC can join units in Transports - and so I don't have a problem with that him doing so, but when 'Dawn Of War' makes Dedicated Transports and thier transported squads count as 2 for deployment. I can see an agruement for Yriel counting as an extra transported unit.

Anyway - I think the best course of action is to make sure extras in the 1000pt Spearhead conform to the FoC when combined with the 1500pt force. Thats why me Chaplain Dreadnought took up an Elite selection.

Well the skystorm would never deploy on the board so dawn of war would'nt be a problem but i did'nt realise about the HQ situation. You may have to raise this on the fugitives forum for everybody to mull over bud.
