Hi All,

With Warhammer Fantasy 8th Edition out and being played, it's time we started discussing doing a 'Get Together' big Fantasy Game along the lines of what we have done for WH40K.

Looking to arrange a Saturday some time in October. Some Dates would be: 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd or 30th.

Could you all reply your interest, which weekend would be best and what Army would you take.

Looking to do between 5000-6000pts doubles games (2500-3000pts each) depending on what size forces people have.

So remember - reply with:
    A) Interest Yes/No
    B) Best Weekend Date
    C) Army/Race
    D) Possible Size

Cheers DaBoss

I think the running of the previous WH40K event worked well, all linked into an overall campaign setting - large multi-player games can get bogged down as one end of the table can run slower than the other, or it disintegrates down to 1-on-1 games as we line up opposite each other.

Depending on players - we should be able to make some interesting themed games, pitting known adversaries against each other.

Yes to interest

23rd or the 30th are the only two availiable to me

High elves of course (the dark elves have about as much chance as a one legged man in an ass kicking contest)

I think that 3k doubles would be excellent.

As an aside would could set this as the start of the "Storm of Chaos(tm)" campaign that GW did a few years ago, which would give us a nice theme to plot the games.
"Crom, i've never prayed to you before, i have no tongue for it.
No-one, not even you, will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought and why we died.
All that matters is that two stood against many, thats whats important.
Valor pleases you lord Crom so grant me one thing, grant me revenge.
And if you do not listen....then to hell with you!"

the problem you get with one massive game is that you end up playing 1 on 1s coz it is a lot harder to remeber to move units/characters scattered around the board, plus you would never complete a turn as shooting and combat would take forever, this unit is getting shot 1 end of the board whilst another one is getting shot at the same time the other end and so on, it would take ages especially with you and your assessing of the whole situation :)

3k, 4k doubles would be better as you would actually play a game instead of running around the board like a headless chicken trying to move your army, anyway the big 40k games end up being 2 on 2s most of the time with the odd unit engaging someone elses army its alot smoother in 40k to have massive multiplayer games than it is in fantasy.

conclusion - doubles games for me :)

A) Interest Yes
B) Pretty flexible atm
C) High Elves
D) 3-4k with ease

Big doubles games will work best imo. The new rules in particular make running these types of games fairly easy.

Thank you to everyone who turned up - I believe we had a successful day even if the planned game of 3 sets of Doubles had to be dropped.

Will plan to have the photos posted up tomorrow, after I have uploaded and cleaned them up (seems I'm having problems composing a picture - I seem to be focusing on empty space most of the time!!)

Forgot to ask who won the big Fantasy Game? I believe it was the Alliance of Evil that prevaled.

Meanwhile the Skaven and Warriors of Chaos Force managed to put the Sylvanian Town to the flame in a resounding victory (4 buildings demolished and 1 ransacked by Clan Eshin Agents).

Highlights for me were:
> Isabella being turned into a Ratman by the 13th Spell
> Vlad crushed by the Hell Pit Abomination even after killing it but also his famous ring failing to save him.
> Kholek running from a bunch of Skeletons.
> Konrad alternating between Frenzy & Stupid, but killing Throgg in single combat.

Please post up your highlights?
