Campaign

Postby CheeseNinja » Fri Jun 19, 2009 6:29 pm

Greetings cheese lovers

Instead of us just playing random games all the time how about some sort of map based campaign to give it a bit more meaning when you crush someone?
Im fairly sure ive got one of the old world maps kicking around in the cheese pit somewhere we could use.

Totally agree with generating a map based campaign. Biggest challenge is not getting the map, it is finding someone to keep it all co-ordinated and make sure that people are taking part as necessary.

Well volunteered I say!!

Shouldn't be to difficult to handle seeing as there's only two of us that seem to be into the idea!

No maps, but a one vs one campaign system that generates a ton of storyline/events and links games with bonuses for different mission types.

It was written for 4th, so uses those missions, but otherwise, is still jolly!

Thanks for the link ruffian - that should help.

Hmm - thinking about it a tree-based campaign may work better. Getting more than just the two of us shouldn't be a problem and then doing comined results to work out the next step in the tree.

Plan it for 3-4 games maximum and it should be fine - Off you go Stu :)

Not before you hand me my arse on the 6th you don't... all my models have finally arrived for my Eldar force so I need to see how to use em at the hands of a master...

Damn you all for tempting me to look at WFB when I want to remain securely in 40K territory... I will not succumb to the temptation... I will not!

not sure whether you guys have used it before, but to be honest with you guys, the Mighty Empires campaign system is extremely basic in format so would likely need less planning than even a basic tree one

the idea of Mighty Empires is to give a basic framework for gamers to build upon.

my group of friends are now planning our third ME campaign - the first time we played it we just used the basic rules, the last time we added in the character advancement rules from WD351 (i think it was) and now we are going even further and planning race specific rules for everything from adding buildings in to adapting the character advancement to each race and also turning the campaign in to a more rounded affair so that it incorporates all the aspects of the hobby from painting to fluff writing whilst obviously still keeping the main focus on games

p.s. if you think you can help with this, send us a pm - we could do with some fresh eyes!
