Fate of Bassino - Armageddon Gaming Day

Postby DaBoss » Fri Apr 01, 2011 9:09 am

Hi All,

We played the completion of the 'Fate of Bassino' WH40K Campaign this last weekend.

16 players gathered together on a Saturday at our local hall and played 3 linked games - Apocalypse, Planetstrike and Spearhead.

A Great Day was had - many thanks to TheColonel for organising.

Pics of the day in attached PDF.

Definately a great day - well organised and planned out - grats to TheColonel for that.

Although all 3 games seemed to be very 1-sided on the scorecard - the truth behind those numbers is very misleading.

I really enjoyed playing my first game of Spearhead - a great tussle with some cracking opponents. The sight of all that guard artillery was incredible - although the loss of the Deathstrike before it got to fire was a shame...

Bring on more!!

Defo a big thumbs up to James for organizing the whole campaign, well thought out and interesting.

Really enjoyed playing Planetstrike, we (Eldar and Dark Eldar) were quite lucky to pull off our win, having 3 units of Sternguard, Kantor, Dante, 2 Dreadnoughts and 2 Tacical squads surround 1 Bastion on turn one is quite a scary sight!

A couple of highlights for me was Dante being killed by sniper fire from Rangers, it was the only thing they did is I remember correctly, but what a great feat. The other being one of our Bastions taking 15+ St 9 - 10 direct hits and surviving!
Yes I study Psychology, no I can't read your mind.........yet!

Devlin mud, painting armies since 2008!
