Loyalist Marines vs Chaos 6000pts
This last Monday, Chris (CrimsonFists) & James (RavenGuard) had a game against Phil (WorldEaters) & Graham (Chaos Daemons).
This was a chance to have a game with our forces from the WH30K for the Age of the Emperor Part IV (except for Graham as he will be taking Ultramarines).
We played Pitched Battle - Seize Ground with 3 Objectives over my 8' by 6' board, we each had 3000pts.
Chaos won the roll and let the Loyalists setup first as all our army was in reserve (even my Warhound Titan).
Objectives were evenly deployed in diagonal across the board.
NOTE: Lots of Photo's - will add more notes when I have more spare time
Deployment
Lone Eversor Assassin defends the left flank
Corax and Honor Guard blend into the surroundings - or so he thinks!
Loyal forces hold Objective 1
Loyal forces hold Objective 3
Turn 1
Daemons appear behind the main Loyalist line
Fiends drop near Dreadnought on Landing Pad
Crimson Fist Assault Squad moves up to counter Daemonic Assault
Daemonic Heavy weights land near Objective 1
Long shot of table and the battle unfolding
Crimson Fist reserves land and take Objective 2
Weldgeld have to move due to rage towards only visible enemy on the other side of the table!!

Turn 2
Dreadclaws arrive as far as possible from enemy fire
Do you think he sees us..Raven Guard play hide and seek with Soul Grinder
Khorne Daemon Prince says hello
Left flank starting to look a little over-run by the Daemonic horde
Dreadnought vs Soul Grinder - who will win?
Skarbrand assaults the Land Raider and rips it a new door
Turn 3

Turn 4

Turn 5

Turn 6

Game over: Loyalists 0 vs Chaos 2 Objectives (1 contested)
Great game, loyalists had a very stong defencive position, it was the combined assault of the reserves of the Chaos forces that finally put too much pressure on the loyalist defence.
The Warhound Titan was pivotal in the latter phases as it blew away Corax's Honor Guard, Land Raider, Vindicator and numerous Marines with its Turbo Laser and Plasma Blast Cannon for no return damage.
Still Chaos had 5 scoring units remaining at the end.
Also I love the Dreadclaws - land and let the frothing khorne warriors assault; will miss the StormHawk from the force (will just need to add 2 more Dreadclaws I guess).
