Malifaux AAR - Pandora vs Rasputina

Postby DaBoss » Tue Jan 31, 2012 11:17 am

Decided to try the Avatars in a game of Malifaux, plus started painting up my Graveyard scenery.

Enjoy

Nice report.

Avatars - why you no appear?
When in deadly danger
When beset by doubt
Run in little circles
Wave your arms and shout
- parody of the litany of command

In this case both Avatars have requirements that need damage. In a small scrap (25SS is about as low as you go) by the time you have done enough to manifest most of your opponents are either dead or nearly so and visa-versa. At this point it's more efficent just to kill rather than manifest.

Ranged caster avatars can also suffer because both their Master form and their avatar form can be soulstone hungry leaving you with not a lot of support after manifestation.

Any crew with the ability to reactivate their master one it manifests becomes very powerful as you can choose to go turn 2/3 and still have actions on these critical turns.
Any ressers can use the Nurse burst of speed - once you manifest you don't die as the model is replaced. Make sure you are safe though you don't want someone sneaking a paralyse on your master so he can't and then dropping dead
Somer gains Pig so a Hog Whisperer can do it at the price of 3 wounds but cannot help before he manifests.
Ramos can have the Brass Arachnid which does need an 11+ram but can be used every turn to make Ramos very easy to manifest. (it gets killed as part of manifestation sadly)
When you wish upon a star, your dreams can come true.
Unless it's a meteorite falling to Earth, which will destroy all life, then you're pretty much hosed no matter what you wish for.
Unless it's death by meteorite.

Simply the game never went long enough.
You need to achieve your Manifestation Requirements which we both managed to achieve 1 on turn 3.
Rasputina did manifest on Turn 4 but the game was all over.

Next time I'm playing 35ss Rasputina Crew vs Lady Justice Guild crew.
Will see if I can manifest in that one.
