Necrons

by timewizard on Tue Aug 23, 2011 10:24 pm
Recently my Necron player and opponent gave up the game for good. That's the bad news.
But he gave me his Necron Army. That's the good news.
But the necrons were mostly unprimed, not painted at all, and needed to have some parts added to them, specifically the ends of the warriors gauss weaponns.

So I finished the construction, primed them black, and then gave them a 'quick and dirty' drybrush of Vallejo Hammered Copper.
Here's how they came out so far.

by Baragash on Thu Jun 09, 2011 7:43 pm
So the second game in the series has been available for pre-sale at some online retailers for a few weeks, but as I want to support Mantic directly for the moment I waited for it to go up on their site... and it has, so I pre-ordered it :D

Panzerzug BP44 First Mockup

by Spack on Tue May 29, 2012 8:23 am
To make sure that the locomotive and tender won't look too big or too small alongside the existing OO scale trains that my son has on his railway a card mockup of the Sketchup model has been made. Using the Flattery plugin it was pretty easy to unfold the model faces to create a flat printable mesh that could then be folded and glued.

This is scaled at 1:87 (which is HO scale rather than OO, but means that the train will be in proportion to the track width), and next to a small 0-4-0 steam engine looks about the right size. This card mockup will also be used to find a chassis to fit the locomotive, and I've already got donor parts for the tender chassis from an old flat bed carriage which has 6 wheeled bogies at each end (the tender is sitting on one of these bogies in the photo below).

Generic Points System to use in Kings Of War Rules

by DaBoss on Fri Jun 10, 2011 11:59 am
Having played a few games at the club and practice games at home, I've come to like the simplicity of the rules and the game dynamic it produces.

No more HeroHammer or huge tomes to look through to see what the rules subsection states, and easy to get a game done in a short space of time.

Unfortunately, in there eagerness to get rules out to use their models, Alessio did a fine job but I do wonder about the costing of some of the units.

Lets take for example a Simple Regiment from the Undead and the Elves (20 strong unit with no Standard Bearer or Musician).

Skeleton Regiment (20)
Sp 5, Me 5+, De 4+, At 10, Ne 6 with Evil Dead, Shambling Horde and Phalanx rules @95pts

Elven Spearmen Regiment (20)
Sp 6, Me 4+, De 4+, At 10, Ne 6 with Elite and Phalanx rules @110pts

Some stats can be ignored as they will have no difference between the effectiveness of each unit.
So the main differences are:
1) Speed - Elves will likely get the charge...
