BA Blog 20th August Predators

by Cain Tiberius on Sat Aug 20, 2011 3:09 pm
Hi folks. Been a month since I posted anything new
But never fear, the Avatar lookilike Sham Geek has something new too share, lol.

I've been working on two Predator Tanks. One is one of my MK1 Conversions, the other is just a regular kit. As usual, I have magnetised the weapons so I can take pretty much any loadout on both tanks. The nly exception (for the moment) is I can only take one Annilator Pred as I only have one Twin Linked Lascannon between them (for now)

Grey Knights Dreadknight Conversion WIP

by Spack on Fri Apr 15, 2011 7:43 pm
While I like the concept of the Dreadknight, and at first I didn't mind the terminator harnessed on the front, I've slowly realised that I don't like the terminator or the exposed exo-skeleton pistons on the arms. I also wanted to adjust the position of the legs so that it doesn't look quite so static. Today I found myself with a bit of spare time and decided to have a crack at it.

The legs were built pretty much as stock, although the front armour above the toe was left off (this will be used on the thighs to help fill in the gaps left by the missing terminator legs). The back hoses at the top which connect to the hip piece were clipped off as they would need adjusting when the legs were posed, and the rear toe was trimmed down a little to allow the front ankle to rotate far enough to move the front leg forward. Next the blocks at the top of the legs were snipped off and glued into the hip piece, and then the tops of the legs glued to them, and glue added to the ankles. The legs were...

Warhammer 40k: Campaign

by Baragash on Thu Mar 17, 2011 12:22 pm
So in the summer, myself and Phil hope to play a system-wide campaign.

We'll be running a single planet campaign around Easter just to see how it works.

Anyway, it'll combine:

And of course the normal 40k rules. The plan is to have 5 planets, each consisting of 7 tiles (ie 1 central tile and 6 surrounding tiles), and also run the standard fleet-based campaign rules for BFG.

In an old White Dwarf article, it suggested that to assault a planet a player would attack using BFG's Planetary...

Panzerzug BP44 Train Day 3

by Spack on Wed May 16, 2012 11:41 pm
Started working on some of the smaller details on the locomotive and tender, adding buffers, armour plates for the buffers, boiler hatches, chimney, and driver cab windows.

As a mockup this works pretty well and allows me, using the Flattery plugin, to unfold the outer surfaces and create a mesh that I can print out - initially using a card template to check that the shells will fit the running gear and won't too look out of scale on the track, and then to cut out the main plasticard panels. Smaller details like inspection hatches and armour strips can be drawn in Photoshop and printed out later as they will be flat and simply cut out of thin plasticard and glued into place on the main surfaces. Here's the locomotive main shell flattened out:
