I thought a blog would help me keep on top of my project!

I have had a fairly good size of grey knights for some years now, back when the now old ones were released as deamonhunters.

So my army thus far:

Purifiers x 9 - halberds and 2 x incinerators - Done (Want to repaint though)
+Rhino - unpainted
Inquisitorial henchmen - mix of minis 10-20 depending on what I field - mixture of painted unpainted minis

6 Terminators with mix of halberds and swords, 1 incinerator and 1 pyscannon

6 normal Grey knights with halberds and 2 x incinerators

Storm Raven - built but not painted

Dreadknight - Want to convert to be almost running and sword in 2 hands - next big project

Dreadnaught - done

LR Crusader - converted and built not painted

I will try and tick off as I go and undoubtedly buy more stuff.

Next purchases will be a squad of Paladins and normal strike squad...

Hey folks. I thought I'd start off with a list of what I am intending to build for my Blood Angels. Yes it'll take a long time, but that doesn't matter. I'll be updating this as I go. Units in Green have been completed. Red is uncompleted/unstarted.

A little more progress on the train, this time with a test of the Kommandowagen. The Sketchup model was flattened and printed out, and then glued together to check that it would work on the model railway. I also built a test chassis rig from from plastic I-beam, with brass point bearings and Hornby 14mm metal wheels, spaced at 70mm and 80mm centres so that it could be used to test both the armoured railcars axle spacing (70mm) and the longer spacing on the Pz38t tank carrier wagon (80mm, bearings can be seen at right hand side of pic that the axle can be moved onto) around the 1st and 2nd radius track on the railway. Even on the longest spacing it makes it around the 1st radius curves without derailing, although at speed it might well come off.

Just started on the next batch of Horus Heresy model build.

That's 2 Spartan Tanks, Primarchs Fulgrim and Ferrus Manus drying out from there soak in water to remove any residual mould lubricant.

While waiting on the first parts of the Spartan hulls to set before adding the track units, decided to go ahead and build the two Primarchs.

Fulgrims acenic base makes for a very big model, but can now see why when together with Ferrus on the full scenic diorama makes sense (not built that yet - probably will when I start painting)



Looks like I will collect every Primarch model from Forgeworld - just such great sculpts and has having just got to 'Vulkan Lives', love seeing their different characters.

For the Panzerzug train I also want to add a Leopold railway gun, and I've put together a basic model to add to the Sketchup model of the train. It's pretty long at around 34cm (the travelling mode of the real gun was 30m long, which scales to 344mm at 1:87 scale so the Sketchup model is pretty much spot on ), and may have trouble going around corners - although I might be able to mitigate the problems by using only 2 pairs of flanged wheels in each bogie, so that they act as a pair of long wheelbase railcars at each end supporting the gun carriage.
