Panzerzug railcar "Kommandowagen" WIP

by Spack on Wed Jun 13, 2012 2:07 am
Got the basic hull of the Kommandowagen completed tonight. Still needs railings, buffers, and hatches, but is otherwise pretty much done.

I also did a bit more work on the Artillery/Flak railcar, adding the connecting corridor at the Flak platform end (there isn't one at the turret end, as the next railcar would be the tank carrying well wagon) and armour plates for the buffers.

And finally some pics of the new railcars on track and next to the loco and Panzertriebwagen.

BHGS Oxford Pairs

by DaBoss on Tue Oct 27, 2015 3:35 pm
After having a few problems getting a partner to join me at the Tournament, I paired up with Neil Moulden taking Natchjager British Tank Company with Cromwells and Challengers.
Myself taking my trusted KG Von Swoboda force, consisting of:
2 Platoons of 4 Flak36 guns (with extra crew)
1 Platoon of 6 Flak43 guns 3.7cm
1 Platoon of 8 Flak38 guns 2cm
1 Platoon of Hummel Tigers
2 Platoons of SS Artillery Batteries (3)
Artillery Warrior Hans-Georg Sonnenstuhl (who allows me to combine artillery batteries and get US ‘Time on Target’ rules).

Plan being where half on half off, I'd Kampfgroup an 8th platoon, placing the big Kampfgroup of AA guns (12 strong), both artillery and the Tigers on table. Does mean my reserves are quite fragile and not really objective grabbers.

Game 1 – Laurence with US 4th Armoured Division in Pincer
US force consisted of:
HQ of CinC Easy Eight & 2id Jumbo Sherman
2 x Combat of a Jumbo, two Easy Eights and a standard Sherman
1 x Sherman 105 tanks (6)
2 x Recce Plato...

BA Blog 4th April 13: Bikes

by Cain Tiberius on Thu Apr 04, 2013 12:39 am
Howdy folks.

So painting has been slow since I finished the Hawk. I really don't like painting large models :/
But I have now finished a Raven Wing style squad. Yeah I know that's DA, but I think the unit composition fits well in any SM force. As my 2nd Co. is complete, these are from the 8th Co. (assault Co.) which is represented by a double green tear drop on the right shoulder. On models from this Co. I'm deciding to for go the embossed shoulder pads and just free handing the symbols. All the bases are made by me as usual.

The 2 bikes on the left side are from the Dark Vengence set. The 2nd bike to the right side is an eBay rescue. And the other 3 bikes, the attack bike and the speeder are all from my 10 year old force, with the same update techniques I've mentioned before.

Models of note are the attack bike and speeder....

BA Blog 1st November Old models updated.

by Cain Tiberius on Tue Nov 01, 2011 7:57 pm
Howdy folks. After dragging myself away from Space Marine.... I was able to finish updating 4 of my squads from my 10+ year old BA force. I present to you 3 tactical squads and 1 devestator squad.

What have I done you ask..

I have removed as many mould lines that I missed 10 years ago that I coulld, without causing to much extra work now.
I have removed baldy heads and replaced them with either new BA helms or BA heads.
I have added Sculted back pack flags to the Sergeants and painted squad markings on all the models.
Other than that, I have given all models a generous wash of Delvin Mud, and then bring the red back a lil with watered down Blood Red. And repainted some of the detailing.

Sounds like more that it is really. But anywho.. PICS

Rocks and ruined temple Bases.

by Cain Tiberius on Sun Feb 24, 2013 6:41 pm
Ok so I better get round to posting this.

Rocks

Start of by cutting shapes out of various sizes of balsa wood. And stack them up gluing them into your desired size/shape.

Then cover the whole thing with Quick Drying Polyfilla. I thought this was a good idea :-
estarriol wrote:one tip if mixing powder polyfilla/tetrion etc. get a tub of watercolour paint powder or cheap acrylic in your base rock colour (so grey, light brown whatever) and mix that...
