Warmachine Commission 27th April 2013

by Cain Tiberius on Sun Apr 28, 2013 1:02 am
Howdy folks.

I've been asked by a client to build and magnetise a Khador Demolisher/Devastator/Spriggan so that all 3 options can be easily swapped out. But I am not painting the model, just building.

First off, Itrimmed the flash off as much as I could (The Warmachine plastics are really tough to work with)

As per the clients request, the arms are to be pinned from the body right through to the elbow joint.

Thunderhawk progress 2nd January 2013

by Cain Tiberius on Wed Jan 02, 2013 9:27 pm
Just a small update.

I built the fuselage back end so the main body is the correct size/shape now. I also made the engine struts that connect between the body and the engines. The pins are while the glue sets.

Please remember gaps etc will either be covered with detail, or filled in later on. I also mocked up an engine nacelle just to gauge size etc. It's not glued together or to the body, and more detail will be added later.
As I said on the 2012 4th 1/4 thread, they will/are made from 32mm waste pipe that can be obtained from any hard ware store relatively cheap. The ends of the engine are made from 22 mm pipe joiner that I was able to take appart as you will in the pic below. I...

Predator P1 Bio 1/4 scale 3D modelling continued

by Spack on Thu Mar 26, 2015 9:01 pm
Initial modelling details can be found in blog/Spack/predator_bio_mask_14_scale_modelling_b-176.html

I finally got around to working on the 3D model again, and have reached a point where I'm happy with the details and have prepared the model for printing. As well as finishing the interior venting details, the hose connector on the left temple was replaced with something closer to that used on the NECA Big Red figure (the Big Red bio is almost identical to the original P1 helmet, the only differences being the two half spheres on the forehead and the colour), and a small hose connector detail was added to the left cheek (this detail is missing from the NECA bios).

Minecraft Sword

by Spack on Sat Feb 01, 2014 1:57 pm
So my son wanted a Minecraft sword to run around the house with. I've managed to stay well away from Minecraft, but decided to make him one out of cardboard instead of dropping a large amount of cash on a foam one. It was pretty easy to find a large picture of a sword on Google, and then print it out on a couple of sheets of A4 paper. These were then glued to some scrap cardboard from a box using spray mount.

After allowing to dry this was then cut out using a steel rule and a scalpel. As it's a little thin a second one was made, and then these glued back to back with the edges coloured using felt pen. Finally cellotape was wrapped around it to help protect it against all the bumps it will get while it's swung around, and to stop the two halves coming apart.

Just done these little fellers, apologies for the photo quality but the light here isn't good and I can't get at my extra light sources right now :(

They do have red eyes, I know it doesn't show up that well.
