Another small update to the Panzerzug BP44 model train is the basic hull of the Geschutzwagen, which is armed with a 10.5cm turret.






This railcar is connected up to the tender, with the Kommandowagen between it and the Artillery/Flak railcar.



The next railcar in line will be the tank carrying well wagon which carries a Pz38t light tank and has a folding loading ramp, followed by a Panzerjaegerwagen which is a flat railcar with a Panzer IV turret. For the full BP44 duplicates of the railcars are added in the same order to the front of the train, plus two flat wagons which carry supplies and help protect the train should anything be in the way on the track. First model for my Ultramarines army...

...working on an UM 8th Co Captain conversion, using these two kits:

So latest Tempus Fugitives took my Worldeaters with new Angron model to battle against the loyal forces of the Emperor.
Angron turned out to be a beast, but also found 20 man squads to be very effective.

Game 1 - Blood Angels - single planet strike
Defending my Indomitable Fortress against a horde of Blood Angel Assault marines with a couple of Custodians. Angron got into the fray - game over
Win for the Worldeaters 157 vp to 64 vp

Game 2 - Salamanders & RavenGuard - double planet strike
I was joined by a DeathGuard player from my faction.
The Salamanders were joined by some Mechanicum and launched a Teleport attack killing 19 of 20 Worldeater Devastators....
Then it all went sour for the Imperials as Angron and Typhus went on the rampage.
Win for the Warmaster Forces - 223 vp to 22 vp.

Game 3 - Dark Eldar - single heavy assault force 2500pts
Never faced Dark Eldar with the Worldeaters, had a terrible time with reserves with only Devastators and Angron on the table for 3 turns. This...

So last night Red Devil and I played BFG, his first game, my third, but I haven't played for 12 years!

I played Chaos:
Styx Class Heavy Cruiser - Ld9
Hades Class Heavy Cruiser - Ld6
Carnage (1) Class Cruiser - Ld 7
Carnage (2) Class Cruiser - Ld8

Phil played Imperial:
Mars Class Battlecruiser - Ld8
Dictator Class Cruiser - Ld7
Lunar (1) Class Cruiser - Ld6
Lunar (2) Class Cruiser - Ld8

We played the basic Cruiser Clash (ignoring the upper points limit per model). We got lots of rules wrong, having both only skim-read them, but we had fun. This is just a brief overview of what happened as I didn't take detailed notes because it takes time to play a game you barely know

For the Panzerzug train I also want to add a Leopold railway gun, and I've put together a basic model to add to the Sketchup model of the train. It's pretty long at around 34cm (the travelling mode of the real gun was 30m long, which scales to 344mm at 1:87 scale so the Sketchup model is pretty much spot on ), and may have trouble going around corners - although I might be able to mitigate the problems by using only 2 pairs of flanged wheels in each bogie, so that they act as a pair of long wheelbase railcars at each end supporting the gun carriage.
