I did read it, but because it was a Friday (learning point for future, Sunday deadline is better  ), when I came to look at it at the weekend it had already expired.

Having said that I almost certainly would have missed the photo requirement and not qualified anyway as well. This is nothing to do with it not being clear in the text, just that because the text is such a mammoth piece all I took away from it was that it had to be a GW plastic kit (in fairness, I understood this bit the first time and didn't need all the clarification so I understand why the Mr Ts are a bit grumpy about this whole thing), so I think in future people need to give thought to how they call out and highlight the most important pieces of information.

TW, I don't think that the way to go. There is people who have entered as per the rules, there is other who have wished to enter but have not followed the rules. Run the event with the people who have entered, and the rest of us will learn the lessons from this for the next event.

I agree with Bane.

There has been a lot of work gone into this, by both organisers and entrants.

I, for one, have learnt a valuable lesson in terms of reading all the rules!

people have legitimately entered, so the competition should continue for them. Tough luck for the people who didn't read the rules.

It saddens me to see this competion die. TW and Talus have put a lot of time into this contest and I'd like to thank both of them for putting in the effort to organise and sourse prizes. I'm still going to keep my fingers crossed that this event will still run and I'm going to keep working on my project just incase.

After due and careful consideration as well as gathering opinions and input from a number of site members (particularly Bane, Red Devil & Angelwing, see above), it has been decided to allow the 'BER' event to run to completion.

Since the majority opinion has been that the rules as written were clear enough, only those four persons who entered before the deadline will be allowed to finish the contest. The other option of starting a new competition or re-opening this one would unfairly penalize those who have already invested time and money in their entries. This is the most fair solution for all.

It is hoped that the entrants continue to post WIP photos and other site members comment on the entries to keep this thread going. The end date for the contest and the voting process will take place as specified in the rules on page 1. Some posts have been deleted from this thread to keep it on topic, and it will continue to be monitored in the future. Opinions as to the rules or other items may be posted here.

Good luck to the entrants. To any who were interested in the contest but missed the deadline, similar contests may be held in the future and the rules for them will be streamlined as much as possible as per your suggestions.

Right then time to get cracking the WiP. I have my model primed and awaiting some more green stuffing as well as some riverting I'll post up pictures once I have done more than just sprayed it black.

Not from me just yet, I've been procrastinating quite a bit. I decided I'd finish playing Boarderlands 2 before doing more hobby and it's taking me forever to get through (bitchin' game though). I have the little ones second birthday to get on with first then I'll be hitting the project hard this next week as the wife has the rest of it off work and that'll give me some extra creative time.... I hope!

I'm in the middle of doing the final prep before paint and I'm lossing the will to live! I'm sick of the sight of liquid green stuff... Next up the joy of sanding.

Edited to add update:

Well the lighting is bad and the paints still wet, but I thought I'd tease you guys with a few WIP shots anyway. Once it's dry I may add another layer of wash before adding some edge highlights then I just have to start blocking in all the detail bits.
