**EDIT** That's the dragon, base, and rider all finished and glues together. I also had chance to add the little extra that I wanted so Im pretty happy with the result. I'm nipping out to pick Lis up from work so I'll be able to take pics when I get back and get the final shots uploaded at a sensible time (as long as photoshop and illustrator play ball). While I was waitingon paint drying this afternoon, I managed to mockup the layout for the final pics as well. First time ever for me Im not rushing to a deadline ;)

Pics to follow....

Im sure I just posted this, but maybe I didn't hit submit.....

Managed to finish everything off and get photos taken tonight. Really happy with how this one has come out, especially as there is some history behind the model.

Image

I've learned a lot with this one, and although the color scheme apes the original I did way back in the mid 90's, the way I went about it was massively different. It's also in the first batch of models that I've used a wet pallete on start-finish, and it's amazing how much easier it makes things. If you havent tried it yet, I'd recommend giving it a go :)

Hope all those that are still to post get everything uploaded, cant wait to see the entries this month :)

That is nice! I like the OSL on the tower steps and the very brave colour choices. I'm still in awe that you've got so many colours to sit so well with each other.
What, no image sigs!

Well, it was a race against time (no pun intended) with a number of real life challenges to overcome, but I got my martian warrior about as done as I can for now.
Didn't want to chance missing the deadline!
So here's my warrior...
Image
I was trying for more of a "comic book" look and feel to the colors, and wanted to get close to the movie colors of his suit.
In future, I hope to do up a video tutorial on how to light up the streetlamp with an LED light.

Oh, and before I forget, painting campaign ribbons will be awarded today. To all who entered, a round of applause to some really great looking work! :eusa_clap

That's cracking TW :) Now all I can hear in my head are the martians from the film..... although in my head I think they may have a slightly Jawa accent :) Agreed about the entries so far - great work all round..... (And I notice Talus has made a stealth entry too!)

Galrauch complete

Changed the colour scheme. No fancy airbrushing shenanigans for me - this is all brush work. (Mainly 'cuz i cant afford a compressor  )

Fantastic work Herne! Can't hardly believe it's the same red and purple monster!

Like the captive chained to the rock as well. Base work really brings it all together.

Let us know how much you end up selling it for!

Campaign ribbon awarded.

Cheers! Loving urs too I like the way we both took very different routes and painting styles for this one.

Thanks pal - this one not for sale however. He leads my chaos monster army. Glad I didn't do the red and purple in the end. Lot of work went into this one, not just in the 23 hours painting but also in the sculpting, which I find challenging. :)
