Well, quiet on this thread, isn't it?

Anyway, a bit more progress today.
Got the bones done and the trousers, the rats and snake are almost there.

Tonight I'm gonna try to get the upper half painted and I still have to get the iron bars done.

first i'd like to say, i've been stiffed by the client

he wants to base them himself, which means i can only do the most basic shading around their feet, but, untill i get that done, here's some shots of the troopers, including a couple of close ups :)

i'd also like to add this snippet from a conversation i had with him earlier:

Client: after they get their "transfer" to my army, they will be "based" over here!
Me: -Facepalm-
Client: that will be after their travel orders get "posted"!

Looking very nice!
I know what it's like to paint in that scale, and these are well done!
I'm sure your client wouldn't mind if you did up some kind of temp base for the contest.

Just a random question hear for future referents. Is painter of the month to paint your own models that u own at home, or to paint who evers?
Just asking no digs.

I think the only stipulation is that you paint it.

It's probably best that you build the model.. But not all models require assembly.

But what you do with the model after is if no consequence. When I said in the other contest thread that I might not enter because there wasnt anything I wanted that would qualify, it was suggested that I enter something and then sell it on eBay. That no different than entering a model that has been commissioned by someone.

That pretty much covers it. We even allowed models that were primed, because it was brought up in the past that someone had bought some minis off ebay and the models couldn't be stripped completely, that they were still primed. That's okay.

If someone bought you a model, asked you to assemble and paint it, and then give it back to them, it's still okay. So commission pieces are certainly allowed, as long as you are the person who painted and sold the model, not the one who bought it! ;)
