Here's the Enforcer Captain. I assembled him months ago but he's been sitting around on the shelf since then lost and unloved.

He looks cool!
What game system is he from?

And are you planning the dip treatment for him?

Wait 6 months or so and they'll be available in squads of 5 in plastic.

Perish the thought! ;)

But, if not for me, he would not have that incredible Iron Man sculpture to enter this month! Not to mention the Pegasus and a few other items that were available on this side of the pond! However, the new charges the Royal Mail are slapping on packages are making these shipments tougher to justify! :(

Okay, bit more, have 3 tanks built. Bashed a figure from a different tank to put Whittman on his tank.

So only 2 more to build, then I can get started on the painting.

The plan is to do them up in a Normandy 1944 camouflage pattern similar to my panzers.

I spent 30 mins on clean up last night, which amounts to removing the major mould lines from one body.

I think that's the main reason I've been slacking in terms of working on models over the last few months, cleaning the damn things (anyone's non-metal models, not just Mantic's) up is just such a tiresome and laborious task it's scored a penetrating hit on my modelling enthusiasm.

When I get a boxxed set ofx number of things, plus x number of addons plus x and y options.. the first thing I do is tear it all off the spru (I'm commited now I've diminshed its resale value). That then motivates me to..
Stick it into a box, until a holiday or some other time when normal people would siesta or mong or whatever in the sunshine..
I still sit in sunshine and I still drink heartily.. but over that period I do all my scraping and refining.. so the timewaste that it is is spent pleasantly whittling wood whilst chatting with other folks etc.
This means when i do decide to put stuff together its all ready and 1 of the most pain in the arse bits doesn't kill me before I begin(actually I find painting the most frustrating but thats just due to lacking talent).--if your going into the long term with other commitments that kind of approach may work for you?

I'd say GW have got passed their ridiculous flash and kit problems of late 90s early 00s where nothing fit together without melting stuff (those speeders..).. and were pretty much awesome..people gripe about the detail/busy, I reckon theyre just showing off how little of it is nurgle sludge.. but then they went over to the realm of finkyarst- and I confess I still have yet to find one in a shop I'd be willing to pay for.(that is correct last 40k player standing has zero finkarst) so on aggregate agree.. (although surely cleaning metal, i still have a bunch of those vicious files you had to use, was more choresome?and gods the milliput trying to load bear with 15 pins a 2 part unbalanced big model..?plastics better than metals better than resin from this end using layabout.)

Agreed.
I find the whole hobby goes in circles of interest.
If I get the painting bug, I paint.
If I just want to get something done, I chop up stuff and clean them up ready for later.
Etc etc.

Bad thing being that approach is fairly incompatible with headlice, erm I mean deadlines.

I've set up being able to work on bits in front of the TV now, with my daylight bulb stand so I can see what I'm working on. :)

I'd say even Tv doesn't cut it.. you need to do something like start smoking and then quit smoking to find an upside to the chore of flash removal.. european cooking time go out to veranda for 5 hours of chatting and drinking whilst sawing stuff up.. feels good man.
