AOS Painter of the Month Competition - July 2013

Re: AOS Painter of the Month Competition - July 2013

Postby Cain Tiberius » Sat Jul 06, 2013 11:29 am

My local game store is starting its own painting competition this month. But in that competition, everyone has the same model to start with. What we do with it is our own choice.

To save myself some time, I've decided to enter the same model in both competitions. So for July, I am entering another Malifaux model.

The Arcanist; The Steamborg Executioner.

I may do some kit bashing on it. But as on this moment, I really don't know.

so funny thing

im sitting here with a paint brush in my hand, and reference pictures of iron man's mark III armor (as seen in iron man 1 and the first half of 2), and something isnt quite matching up...

oh thats right, the model is NOT mark III armor! the packaging lies!

its close, but the chest plate, the back, hell the entire torso is a little wrong, its almost as if there are parts missing from the set. which would be the case if it wasnt displayed like this on the box and store page it came from.

so im officially taking a hint of artistic license with this! it'll be iron man, but with a few more gold bits :P

But once you eat it...what will you enter?

Or are you kit-bashing the tank into a diner or some other type of eatery?

Just kidding ;) good luck hunter.

im not 100% pleased with how he's coming out so far

and im even less pleased with the fact its not the mkIII/IV as advertised

but, making the best of the situation, still quite a bit to do (clean up, colour variations etc) but making progress :)

All 5 tigers finally built up!

Now all that's left is priming, painting, detailing, weathering, all the fun stuff!
