Some progress on my entry.

The executioner is assembled and gaps filled. And I've sculpted the base using Green Stuff and Milliput mix.

I suppose its time I should get some paint on it.

A pic before it went blue and got attacked with sponges and cotton buds. Must work solid with this now as the stages of work must be done speedily. I recon 3days n it will be done n dusted.

Hunter, are those tracks too long for the hull? Or are they just being sat roughly and do actually fit in place correctly?

Better get a pic posted so I'm not kicked out this month. Here you go. "Thunderbolt and Lightning, very very frightening".

img130.jpg

These are Forge World epic scale models for Aeronautic Imperialis, a pair of Thunderbolts and a pair of Lightnings, primed in grey primer. These, plus some Valkyries, a couple more Thunderbolts, and a Marauder Destroyer are my Imperial Navy force. Tau and Eldar aircraft may well follow in the months to come.

Will try to get at least one, possibly more of them painted, depending on how much time I can find around all the other stuff I'm doing; house being repainted, spent all day yesterday painting the hall, stairs, and landing walls, plus I'm pushing my Aion characters to try to hit lvl60 before the update in August and I've just started SWTOR as it's now free to play too.

Just a dry fit. They do fit, tho I have found that the very top track segment is slightly thiner than the other tracks. It seams to be a generic thing as all the others pics on line are about 95% the same.

Might try this painting direction with an aircraft and atempt a painting blog. Tho the inquisition say I should fear the bolter if I do say how it's done. Never thort cotton buds would be so useful.

so after many a night cursing

im finally saying he's done, but will take a better look tomorrow in natural light (and when im not actually falling asleep)

the customary every angle shot!

ImageImageImageImageImageImage

the palms, chest and eyes are all arc'd up, which doesnt really come out in the pictures... they each have a light blue ring on the inner edges, i was tempted to model active repulsors for the palms, but since his pose is static (i couldnt change it without extensive hacking and remolding), it wouldnt have really fit

he's got a nice bit of weight to him too! yay for completely metal models!

now, considering i had to take artistic license with him because of the differences between this (advertised mk III) and the movie mk III, i think i've done a pretty good job :)

and as timewizard keeps telling me, do what i do best

hence the washes

More WIP... the grey armour needs a lot more blending to make the transitions smooth before I lighten the edges.
